The Early Risers Class meets Sunday mornings from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in Room 224
You are invited to join us as we study on a broad array of contemporary Christian writings supplemented by Bible references. The class chooses the curriculum each year.
We have studied Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life, C.S. Lewis. The Screwtape Letters and The Lord's Prayer using several reference sources. Following the Wesleyan tradition, we base our discussions on readings and our personal faith, tradition, reason, and experience.
The class adopts a mission each year, supporting one of the chosen ministries of Grace, such as teaching Kindergarten Sunday School or supplying Hesed House with needed items. We meet beyond the classroom on occasion, sharing a meal either in a member's home or at a local restaurant.
We share the responsibility for leading lessons and act as a small group Christian support system for our class members. We pray for, and nurture each other in the classroom and beyond. We spend time updating the joys and concerns in the class members before beginning our study.
The class is open to all ages. Singles and couples are most welcome. We value a diversity of thought and experience and seek to gain insights from our study and fellowship.
Here is what class members have to say about the class:
"Our class has helped me stay on track in Bible study and in walking the path to become a more mature Christian. Whether studying a book of the Bible or a book with a Christian focus, the discussions, study, and prayer helps me grow in faith and in faith in action. The fellowship and love of the class members is an important dimension of life in the church and the insights gained from discussions challenges my thinking and patterns of living." Julie Kronbach
"These study group participants are the cornerstone of my faith at Grace. These wonderful friends have helped guide me down my own spiritual path. Our study material and discussions have allowed me to learn and grow as a Christian, a family man, and a member of Grace." Jamey Martin
"Early Risers is a place where Jack and I found a home at Grace. We.ve build friendships that have allowed us to share ourselves without fear. You all have become our support group." Joyce Payne
