Reserving the Church and Use of Its Space and Appointments A couple wishing to be married at Grace United Methodist Church should contact Wedding Coordinator Judi Poland (pictured here) at graceumcwedding@aol.com to set a time and date. Wedding dates are not confirmed until there is an officiating Pastor assigned and a $425 deposit for members and $575 deposit for non-members is received. Weddings are generally not scheduled during Holy Week or on Christmas Day, Christmas Eve, Independence Day, or Thanksgiving Day. Weddings held on Saturday will be at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Rehearsals for Saturday weddings are held on Friday at 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Weddings are held in either the Chapel (seats approx. 60) or in the Sanctuary (seats 350-400). The church will reserve a three-hour period for the wedding participants on the day of the wedding (one hour before the wedding, one hour during, and one hour after for photographs, etc.). Fellowship Hall is often available for receptions, but must be reserved in advance (alcohol is strictly prohibited on the church premises). Additional space at Grace Church may be reserved for the wedding party or guests. All requests must be made through the Wedding Coordinator at least six weeks before the wedding service. When floral appointments have been placed in the Sanctuary for special Church days or seasons, weddings may be held in the Sanctuary only after special arrangements have been made with the Wedding Coordinator and permission has been granted for use of the floral arrangements already in place. Removal of Chancel furniture or the disguising of appointments is not permitted at any time. Pastors not on staff at Grace Church may conduct weddings only with an invitation from the Senior Pastor. The Wedding Coordinator may not schedule any Pastor to marry a couple.
