| Don Niswonger, Parish Pastor
Don began as a member of the Leadership Team and Staff at Grace on October 1, 2001.
His responsibilities at Grace include visitation of hospitals, Nursing Homes, teaching Disciple Classes, leading worship as liturgist and occasionally as preacher-of-the-day. He direct a Career Transition Ministry and serve as celebrant of the sacraments as well as officiate at weddings. His position is a "part time" one on the Staff.
Don received a B.A. from Baylor University in Waco , TX in 1955; a B.D. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC in 1958, and an S.T.M. from Union Theological Seminary, New York City, NY in 1960.
Don has served Pastorates in Texas, North Carolina, Missouri, and Illinois. He is married to the Rev. Dr. Carol Findon, who is an Elder in the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church and is a Pastoral Psychotherapist with Springs of Grace, a Pastoral Counseling and Divorce Mediation service operating out of Grace Church. Don and Carol have five children and seven grandchildren. For recreation, Don enjoys sailing, golf, and riding his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle. Don is an honorably retired ordained member of the Presbytery of Chicago.
