Celebrate the Season of Advent at Grace

The stories, scriptures, and traditions of the Christmas season have been passed down to us throughout the generations. Many of us enter this season with a swell of memories and emotions as vast as the cultural and religious rituals this holiday holds. Like a tapestry woven throughout time, the Christmas story weaves us in—to remember how God has shown up in the past, to continue the work of collective liberation, to behold the presence of God in flesh and bone. The work of God is always unfolding—in and through us. This Advent, may you remember that you belong—to a story etched into the wrinkles of time, to generations that have come before and will come after, to a love that won’t let you go.

Advent Devotional

In this daily devotional, we invite you to take a closer look at how the Christmas story unfolds. We encourage you to pay attention to each of the characters in these familiar narratives and ask: What did each person pass on or contribute? How did they either participate in God’s liberation and love—or try to thwart God’s justice? What can we learn from them and what is our role now? What will we pass on to the next generation? Children's Musical

Join us for this special event on Sunday, December 11 at 10:30AM especially for families! Enjoy the retelling of the Christmas story as only children can. Our musical, “Light of the World,” will share the nativity story through multilingual traditional and new carols. All children (K-7th) are welcome to participate (no need to be a member of Grace), but must be able to rehearse Wednesdays at 5PM to 6PM, through presentation date on December 11. If you would like include your child in the presentation, please contact Lynn Leitzen at lynn.leitzen@peopleofgrace.org.

Longest Night Service

Not everyone is up for a cheery Christmas holiday season. Any number of life situations can make traditional celebrations difficult for us. If this describes you, mark your calendar for the Longest Night Service at Grace. We will create space for those who are experiencing the Christmas season differently this year, but who need to hear the message of healing and hope that our Christmas story provides. Join us on Wednesday, December 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Everyone is welcome.

Journey to the Manger

Come enjoy a sense of holiness, peace, and hope that wraps us in love during the lighting of candles at Christmas at the “Journey to the Manger” Christmas Luminary Drive-thru at Grace on Thursday, December 22 at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.!

The Grace property will be transformed with over 900 luminaries into a pilgrimage of light that takes us on the journey of Mary and Joseph, through the darkness of night and into the light of God’s greatest gift. You will be able to participate from your car as you enter the lower parking lot, with guided music and messages, and make your way to the manger.

Bring a non-perishable food or monetary donation to benefit Grace Hunger ministries.
