These are the words to the first song our choristers will be learning in our new fall season! Can you think of any better? Singing, worshiping, and serving the Lord are fundamentals of our faith and just a glimpse of the reasons YOUR child should be part of the ministry of music. They learn to be worship leaders, to be part of a community with a common purpose, to experience the joy of making music, and to love our Lord and each other more every day! (Plus, it’s the most fun they’ll have at church, guaranteed!)
We invite your children (grades K-7th) to join us every Wednesday at 5 p.m. (4 p.m. for bells). (Seasonal participation is also welcomed if other short-term activities conflict (i.e. fall/spring soccer practices).) The children provide worship leadership approximately once a month, and share a Christmas and Mother’s Day musical.
We welcome Mrs. Shelly Drescher to the team as she co-leads the Cherub Choir (grades K-3) with Sue Riedinger. Shelly is an active member of the Chancel Choir and holds a Music Education degree from Indiana University. She will be joined in choir by 2 of her 3 children. Come, have your children share in the music-making community Sue and Shelly will create for them every week in room 232!
The Junior Singers (grades 4-7) will continue to be led by Lynn Leitzen, Sherri Nagy (accompanist), and Mr. Bob (chief support and cheerleader) in room 171.
The Children’s Bell Ensemble (grades 4-7), led by Debbie John, will meet every Wednesday at 4 p.m. in room 160. No music reading literacy required; she will teach them!
Register now to join this engaging Children’s Ministry! Rehearsals begin Wednesday, August 22.
