Beatrice’s Goat by Page McBrier

Beatrice’s Goat is a true story of a girl named Beatrice who lives in a small African village and who longs to be able to go to school. Unfortunately, her family cannot afford school, a uniform, or books because they are too poor. Soon her family receives a special gift of a goat from people far away. The goat provides milk that the family can sell and then they can earn the money that they need.  After a time, Beatrice’s family is lifted out of poverty, thanks to those who donated to the Heifer Project International, a charitable organization that donates animals to poor communities and families around the world.

Here at Grace United Methodist Church, we can also help change the lives of families around the world by donating to the Heifer Project. What animals will our donations be able to provide? We too can make a difference to families like Beatrice’s!
