Exploring Our Faith in Small Groups!
It’s All About Relationships at Grace UMC! But where do you start building those relationships? One way is to become a part of a small group study. Grace is offering many small group opportunities this fall for us to start building the foundation to create more meaningful relationships with Christ as well as other members of our congregation.
Fast Track Disciple is one of the many opportunities this fall for a short term Bible Study. The 12 week Fast Track Study creates an ideal balance for those with busy lives who still strive to fit a comprehensive Bible Study into their already hectic schedule. Each Class will begin with a short DVD presentation, then move to a discussion of questions from the study manual.
Grace will be offering two Fast Track Disciple classes starting in September. Fast Track 1 which is an Old Testament Survey Class and Fast Track 2 which is a Genesis to Exodus class. Fast Track 1 will begin on Wednesday, September 19 at 7 p.m. in Room 254 led by Sandy Bray. Fast Track 2 will begin on Thursday, September 13 at 9:30 a.m. in room 254 led by Pastor Doug Bowden. Study Manuals for each class are $15.
Book Discussion Groups are another great opportunity to build both relationships with others and deeper faith for yourself. One of the many book discussions groups that Grace will offer is based on the book Unafraid by best-selling author and a United Methodist Pastor Adam Hamilton. Unafraid will teach us to overcome the feelings of worry, dread, fear, panic, and stress that knot our stomachs and cloud our thinking. There will be two book discussion groups offered in September based on Unafraid: the Thursday night class will begin on Thursday, September 13, at 7 p.m. led by Pastor Cindy in room 254, and the Friday morning class will begin on Friday, September 14 at 9:30 a.m. in room 254 led by Kathy Carey. The cost of Unafraid is $14.
Sisters Bible Study is a women’s group that creates a space to build those special bonds as they explore thier faith together. This class will begin the year with best-selling author Max Lucado’s book Anxious for Nothing which guides readers through Philippians 4: 4-8 and explains the key concepts of celebration, asking for help, leaving our concerns behind us, and meditating. Sisters will begin this journey on Monday, September 10 at 1 p.m. in room 254 led by Pastor Cindy. The cost of Anxious for Nothing is $14.
