Henry Rye Awarded Prestigious National Organ Scholarship

Henry Rye, a recent high school graduate and gifted young organist who has played at Grace, was selected as a recipient of the 2022-2023 Ronald G. Pogorzelski and Lester D. Yankee Memorial Scholarship.

This unique scholarship award was created by the American Guild of Organists as a memorial to Messrs. Pogorzelski and Yankee, two long-time supporters and enthusiasts in the field of organ playing. The purpose of the scholarship is to support the education of talented young organists who will make significant contributions to the field of organ playing.

Henry's award is the College Freshman Award of $15,000 for the 2022-2023 academic year (renewable for four years).

Said Henry’s mother, Jill Rye, “Needless to say, this is an unbelievable honor and one that surely would not have been possible without our church's encouragement and the generous professionals he connected with during his time at Grace. Our family is immensely grateful.”
