Serving Opportunities Help Us "Grow Where We're Planted"
By Rev. Cindy Marino

During Lent, our focus was on “Good Enough,” a theme that encouraged us to embrace the imperfections of life and faith. We were challenged to stop climbing the ladder of worldly “success” and start fertilizing, watering and blooming right where we find ourselves. “Grow where you’re planted” was the message we imparted in Sunday sermons, in our Lenten booklet of daily devotions, family church activities, and our Holy Week worship services.
This Easter season, we continue to convey that all we can offer in service to God, the church and one another is more than “good enough.” It is perfect, as God blessed each of us with our own unique gifts in the collective body of Christ.
This month, we will begin to highlight the ample serving opportunities in the many ministries of Grace that fit our individual time and talents. These opportunities will allow us all to grow exactly where we’re planted and, in turn, fulfill our mission to Gather, Grow, Go.
To begin assessing where we can best be of service, members will receive a spiritual gifts and interest survey via email. Beginning Sunday, May 8, there will be an area in the Gathering Space for us to learn about and sign up for our various opportunities. Keep an eye out for the many ways in which you can bloom and grow by volunteering your time and special gifts!
