All-Church Presentation: “The Future of the United Methodist Church”

All adult members of Grace Church are invited to join us on Friday evening, February 22, for a dinner and presentation on “The Future of the United Methodist Church.” The Rev. Dr. Lynn Pries will share information regarding the Special Session of General Conference that is meeting in St. Louis on February 23 and 24. This Special Session is tasked with finding a way forward that honors the different perspectives within the denomination on matters of human sexuality. While many Methodist are unaware of this meeting, others are deeply concerned for the future of our denomination. The Rev. Dr. Lynn Pries will help us better understand what is happening and how we arrived here. Please join us for this important and informative presentation. This event is hosted by the Fellowship of Christian Men. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and the presentation at 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.

The Rev. Dr. Lynn Pries is a graduate of North Central College, Evangelical Theological Seminary, and Garrett-Evangelical Seminary.  Prior to his appointment as the Chaplain of North Central, Pries served United Methodist churches in the Illinois communities of Channahon, Aurora, Cicero, and Worth. He has extensive experience with General Conference, having led efforts to amend the Book of Discipline to address concerns of college chaplains and campus ministers. He is married to his college sweetheart Donna Allison Pries and they have two adult children and four grandchildren.
