40 Days of Mercy
Saturday, February 13th, 2016 - Sunday, March 13th, 2016
This Lent, Grace Church will spend 40 days seeking mercy. Mercy is the act of moving power and energy away from judgement and retribution toward forgiveness and compassion. It is central to the Christian story. Jesus embodied mercy in his life: forgiving, healing, teaching, listening. And his life itself — from birth to the cross — is act of mercy, too. It is what made him divine, and also helped redefine what makes us human. To be human is to be compassionate when we don’t have to; to forgive when we have the power to punish. We will go deeper into mercy each week in worship.
February 13 /14 — The Power of Grace
February 20/21 — The Case for Forgiveness
February 27/28 — Unlocking Humanity
March 5/6 — Hiding Behind Judgement
