August Food Drive

Sunday, August 7th, 2016

The Grace Hunger Committee’s next food collection on August 7 will benefit Loaves and Fishes in Naperville.  This food pantry is located at 1871 High Grove Lane and provides food and services to over 600 families each week with almost 50% of those served being children.  Over 60,000 pounds of food is distributed each week and over 1000 volunteers assist at the pantry with collecting, sorting, and stocking the shelves and assisting clients.  Loaves and Fishes also partners with local organizations to provide on-site access to a variety of community services, from food stamps to job search, computer classes, medical insurance, etc.

Be sure to pick up a grocery bag with a list of items Loaves and Fishes especially needs or consider making a monetary donation in the Love Loaf in the Narthex or in the offering with “Loaves and Fishes” indicated on the envelope.  Be sure to talk to GUM member, Bob Elazan, who has been volunteering there for many years for more information.
