Children Are Valued at Grace
Children are valued by God and in our church community. At Grace, we meet children where they are, and celebrate the presence and engagement of children in all aspects of our Christian community. We provide quality child care, Sunday School classes, and special events throughout the year. Please contact Pastor Kim Neace, Pastor of Children and Family Ministries, at kim.neace@peopleofgrace.org or 630-355-1748 x 3241 for more information.

Faith, Food, and Fun: Shared Earth, Shared Table: Bird Feeders, Buy Nothing, and the Joy of Enough
Friday, April 17 from 5:30PM to 7:00 PM
Register at peopleofgrace.org/faithfoodfun
What if caring for God’s creation could be joyful, practical, and shared across generations?
On Thursday, April 17 from 5:30PM to 7:00PM, we invite you to a special Faith, Food, and Fun evening as we celebrate Earth Day together with Shared Earth, Shared Table as we partner with The Green Team— a hands-on, heart-centered gathering for all ages.
This will be an evening where faith meets action in simple, meaningful ways.
We’ll Create
Together we will make bird feeders from recycled materials — turning something ordinary into something life-giving. As we craft, we’ll reflect on what it means to tend God’s garden and care for the creatures who share this earth with us.
We’ll Share
Bring a gently used item from home (something you no longer need but that could bless someone else) for our intergenerational “Buy Nothing” Exchange. This is not about buying or selling — it’s about rediscovering the joy of enough, reducing waste, and sharing abundantly. You might leave with something you didn’t know you needed and a reminder that everything we have is a gift.
We’ll Gather at the Table
We’ll enjoy a simple, earth-friendly meal of soup, salad, fruits, and vegetables — celebrating the goodness that grows from the soil and the gift of sharing a table together. There is something sacred about eating food close to the earth while remembering that “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it” (Psalm 24:1).
Most importantly, this evening is for everyone — children, youth, parents, grandparents, singles, and seniors. Creation care belongs to all of us. Whether you are 5 or 95, you have a role in tending God’s garden.
Come ready to create, share, eat, laugh, and grow together. Come ready to rejoice in the gift of our shared earth and shared table. We can’t wait to see you there!
Parent's Night Out
Saturday, April 25 from 4:00PM to 7:00 PM
Register at peopleofgrace.org/nightout
Parents, enjoy a well-deserved evening out while your children enjoy a fun and safe night at church filled with games, crafts, laughter, and friendship! Children will enjoy a playful evening with activities designed just for them — a perfect chance to make friends and have fun in a welcoming environment. Meanwhile, parents can use this time to relax, enjoy a quiet dinner, run errands, or simply take a little break.
This event is also a wonderful opportunity for our youth to serve. Youth volunteers will help lead games, assist with activities, and spend time building relationships with each other and younger children. It’s a meaningful way to grow in leadership and share God’s love through service.
Registration is requested so we can plan appropriately. Come serve, come play, and come enjoy an evening of community and care for all ages!

VBC Volunteers Needed
Want to join the team? We are looking for adults (18+), teens (entering 9th - 12th fall of 2026), and apprentices (entering 6th - 8th grade fall of 2026) to help lead the way. We’d love to have you on our Mountain Crew.
The volunteers are needed prior to VBC and the week of VBC. The expectation from volunteers who are serving the week of VBC is that they commit to the full week Monday to Friday. If you are unable to volunteer the whole week, many other volunteer opportunities are available. Please reach out to Becky Blachford or Stephanie Smith, VBC Co-Directors, at vbc@peopleofgrace.org.
Please register by April 30 so we can start creating a VBC experience that transforms lives. Sign up at peopleofgrace.org/vbcvolunteers.
All dates are subject to change. Please check back frequently for updates.
All Abilities Welcome!
Open Doors Ministry (ODM) provides support for those with special needs. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me." We are blessed to have children of all abilities and we nurture, support, and welcome them with joy! We work hand in hand with our Open Doors Ministry which supports children with varying abilities so they grow closer to God and can fully participate in the life of the church. Please contact Rhonda Antoniolli, Director of Open Doors Ministry, at odm@peopleofgrace.org with questions or for more information.
You are welcome here and we look forward to seeing and/or meeting you and your child(ren).
