Grace United Methodist Church is part of the global United Methodist Church, whose mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Our congregation is a part of the Prairie Central District of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church.

John Wesley and the early Methodists placed emphasis on Christian living, putting faith and love into action. In that spirit, Grace’s core values come from the Great Commandments (to love God and neighbor) and the Great Commission (to go and make disciples).

Loving God: "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment." - Matthew 22:37-38
Grace has ministries for people of all ages designed to build fellowship and strengthen faith. -
Loving Others: "And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." - Matthew 22:39-40
Our service and outreach efforts enable our faith to go forth into the world with the good news of Jesus Christ. -
Proclaiming Christ: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." - Matthew 28:19
Our worship services are designed to help us give praise to God; to listen for God's Word for our lives today, and to be challenged to live according to that Word.

At Grace, we dedicate ourselves to a ministry of Christ-like hospitality and compassion. We gather in Christ, we grow in love, and we go to serve.
beliefs in action
We believe that God loves everyone beyond imagination, and we do our very best to make our lives a "thank you" for this by surrounding every person in the Grace UMC community with love and forgiveness. We believe Jesus Christ was the real presence of God among us, and that he calls us to be ambassadors of God's presence in our neighborhoods, communities, and world. And, because the Holy Spirit gives everyone the chance to experience the grace of God, we believe in building a church embodies grace for the world.
