Over 50 Fellowship Group Christmas Party
The Over 50 event on Thursday, December 5 was our largest one since we started back after Covid. Friends and guests at Grace gathered for good food and great entertainment. It made for a great Christmas event. The Stiletto Quartet, including Grace's own Kim Blair, gave a phenomenal performance and what fun it was to sing along to some Christmas favorites.
November Kindertot
Children and their favorite adults came together for our November Kindertot on Monday, November 25. Our theme was "Thankfulness" and "Turkeys." We had themed free play, circle/music time with Miss Lynn, story time with Pastor Kim, made our turkey snack and took home a Roll a Turkey snack for more fun at home, and did some thankfulness and turkey crafts, as well as took home some activities like a Thankful 4 jar and Thankful Scavenger Hunt to do with our families at home.
November Growing in Faith Together
Growing in Faith on Sunday, November 17 was a gift of time for children, youth, parents, and grandparents to be together. We were "On the Way to Bethlehem" to learn about the longing, waiting, simplicity, and humility of Advent while we made a tour to Rome, Jerusalem, Nazareth, and Bethlehem while hearing the Christmas Story. We had a Bethlehem themed snack and received our suitcase full of scriptures to read each day during Advent, as well as a Gratefulness jar for Thanksgiving.
A "Marathon" of a Day!
What a "marathon" of a day it was on Sunday! Thanks to all those who represented Grace UMC at the actual Naperville Women's Half Marathon and handed out gatorade and cheered on the runners. We had a marathon of sorts at Grace as well. The children, youth, and leaders did a great job serving and learning about CROP Walk at Sunday Funday. Then, we celebrated Children's Sabbath at the 10:30 worship service, with our Children and Youth choirs presenting special music. What a day to learn about the justice we can be part of for children and youth! Thank you to all the speakers who educated us and motivated us to make a difference.
We continued with our servant hearts as we prepped and bagged food for Loaves and Fishes at Faith, Food, and Fun. Thank you to all who served. The marathon continued with the CROP Walk. Thanks to all who fundraised, walked, and finished packing 725 food bags for Loaves and Fishes. You can see the fun of the day and how God was at work. Continue supporting and working toward justice for children and youth by partnering with what Grace is already doing. Click here to see the ways Grace supports children and youth all year long.
